Are you depressed? Do you feel like the world is against you and you are never going to get ahead? Maybe things really aren’t as bad as they seem. Maybe all you need to do is add a daily amount of omega 3 to your diet. Omega 3 has been found through studies to elevate the mood to prevent depression.

Do you know that when a person is happy they have a better outlook on life? A better outlook is like the domino effect. When you are happy, people around you are happier and life just seems better.

When people are depressed, that is contagious too. When my husband gets down on life, he drags me down with him. I am typically very high on life but he says it’s because I don’t work. I do work but it’s a different way. I work online and babysit my 6 grandchildren. My online work can be just as stressful as going to a job. Most people do not see it that way. I still have daily work I need to accomplish and if I don’t get it done, I am stressed about it.

A little stress a day is good for you. Without the stress of completing your work for the day, a house may never get cleaned, laundry never get done, you may stay in bed all day instead of going to your job which would result in no paycheck. Stress is actually what motivates people to do what they need to do in order to move forward.

There’s the stress of keeping up with the Jones. We all seem to want what everyone else has. That keeps us wanting to earn more and more money. When we seem to never be able to catch up and make the purchases others are making, it becomes depression.

That’s where taking omega 3 can help. It won’t get you that brand new computer, house or truck you are wanting, but it can help with your depression. Omega 3 is high in the EPA fatty acid which can help with depression.

Omega 3 can even help out with bipolar disease. Some doctors are prescribing omega 3 to their bipolar patients. Some of the patients are telling doctors that omega 3 is a miracle drug. It’s helping them control their mood swings feeling better about life.

Omega 3 can be introduced into the diet through eating cold water oily fish such as salmon, tuna, herring, sardines or Mackerel. Or you can get it in your diet by eating English walnuts, just 3 a day will give a typical person enough of the omega 3 fatty acids. You can also find omega 3 in leafy vegetables, flax seeds, canola oil and sunflower seeds or oil. These are some dietary ways to get omega 3.

Omega 3 also comes in a variety of forms in gel tabs. You can find these at your local supermarket, drugstore or online.

Check with your doctor if you are suffering from depression and ask them what dosage they recommend you to take daily if choosing the gel tabs.
